Drive Safe Missouri · 8-hour DIP

Questions before you start?

Course details, court requirements and your next steps after completion.

Do I need approval before enrolling?

For ticket-related DIP, obtain authorization from your court (or the Fine Collections Center, when applicable) before enrolling. Your court decides whether you qualify. You need a conviction date before starting the course. Missouri DOR: tickets and points

How long is the course? Can I stop and resume?

This is an eight-hour online Driver Improvement Program. You do not have to finish in one sitting: your progress is saved, and you can sign in again to continue. Complete the required lesson time, quizzes and final exam within your deadline.

What information will I need?

Have your driver's license, personal information and court paperwork ready. You will manually enter the court name, court originator number (ORI), case number, conviction date and violation details, including whether an accident was involved. Ask the court clerk for missing information. Use the court's ORI, not the police department's number. You will review your details again before the final exam.

What happens after I pass?

Download your completed Missouri Form 4444 from your dashboard. Take it to your court clerk for the court signature, then follow the court's directions so it reaches the Missouri Department of Revenue within 15 days of course completion. Drive Safe Missouri provides the form; we do not automatically submit it to your court or DOR. Missouri Safety Center: completion steps

What is the deadline, and how often can I take DIP?

For the DIP point benefit, complete the course within 60 days of conviction. DIP may be used only once in a 36-month period. Confirm your dates and eligibility with your court before you pay. Missouri law: section 302.302

Are there license or vehicle restrictions?

The DIP point benefit is unavailable to CDL holders or for violations in a commercial motor vehicle. A motorcycle violation requires approved motorcycle-rider training instead. Missouri Safety Center also excludes out-of-state license holders with Missouri tickets and Missouri license holders with out-of-state tickets. Confirm your situation with your court before enrolling. Missouri Safety Center: eligibility guidelines

Will this dismiss my ticket?

DIP may allow an eligible driver to avoid point assessment for a qualifying conviction with court authorization. It does not erase the ticket or guarantee dismissal. The court determines how DIP applies to your case. Missouri Safety Center: DIP information

What if I entered something incorrectly?

Review and correct your personal and court details before the final exam and before your form is issued. Once issued, only the platform administrator can correct the form. A $10 correction fee applies if incorrect details need to be changed after issuance. Contact support for help; downloading the form again does not change its contents.

Can I use my phone or tablet?

Yes. You can take the course in a modern web browser on a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. Sign in to the same account when returning to your course.
